If you have never had IV therapy before, it is completely normal to have questions about what the experience is actually like. This page walks you through everything from the moment you book your Comfort IV appointment to how you might feel in the hours after your infusion.

Drink water before your appointment. Being reasonably hydrated before your infusion makes the IV placement easier and more comfortable.

Have a light snack within a few hours of your appointment. Arriving on an empty stomach can sometimes cause lightheadedness.

Wear clothing with easy access to your arm. A short sleeve or loose sleeve works best.

Complete your health intake form before your provider arrives. This saves time and lets your Nurse Practitioner review your information before approving treatment.
What Happens During Your Comfort IV Appointment
Your provider arrives at your location anywhere in Delaware with all supplies. After a brief introduction and a clinical check-in covering your health history and current symptoms, your provider will select the best IV placement site in your arm.
You will feel a small pinch when the needle goes in. This lasts about one second. After that, you should feel little to nothing. The IV line is secured and your infusion begins. You can use your phone, watch something, read, or just relax. Your provider stays with you throughout the session.
Before your IV begins, you will receive real-time approval from a licensed Nurse Practitioner who has reviewed your health intake and treatment plan. This clinical oversight step happens at every Comfort IV appointment.
Most wellness infusions run 30 to 45 minutes. When the infusion is complete, your provider removes the IV line, places a small bandage over the site, confirms you are feeling well, and clears you before leaving.
How You Might Feel Afterward
Most clients feel noticeably better within 30 to 60 minutes of their infusion. Many notice improved energy, clearer thinking, reduced symptoms, or a general sense of feeling more like themselves. The speed and degree of improvement depends on why you came in and how depleted you were beforehand.
You may notice mild tenderness or bruising at the IV site for a day or two. This is normal and resolves on its own. Drink water after your appointment to continue supporting your body's use of the nutrients delivered.
There is no downtime. You can return to normal activities immediately after your infusion.

Will it hurt?
The initial needle placement feels like a small, brief pinch. It is over in about a second. The infusion itself is not painful. Most clients are surprised by how quick and comfortable the experience is.
Can I use my phone during the infusion?
Yes. You can do anything comfortable with your free hand during the infusion. Most clients use their phone, watch something, or just relax.
What if I am nervous about needles?
Many Comfort IV clients are needle-averse before their first appointment. Let your provider know. They will walk you through each step, go at a pace that works for you, and do everything possible to make the experience comfortable. Most clients find it much easier than they expected.
How long will the IV site take to heal?
The IV site typically closes within minutes of the line being removed. Any minor bruising or tenderness usually resolves within one to two days. If you notice redness, swelling, or warmth at the site after 24 hours, contact us.
Can I exercise after my infusion?
Light activity is fine immediately after your infusion. For intense exercise, many clients prefer to wait a few hours. There are no hard restrictions on activity after treatment.
