Special Populations That Should Consult Their Physician First
- Pregnant women: always consult your OB or midwife before any IV therapy during pregnancy
- Breastfeeding mothers: consult your physician before booking
- People with kidney disease, congestive heart failure, or fluid regulation conditions
- People with uncontrolled diabetes or blood sugar conditions
- People taking blood thinners or immunosuppressive medications
- Anyone with a recent surgery or significant acute illness
- People with a history of adverse reactions to IV therapy
- People with known allergies to any components of the planned infusion
How Comfort IV Screens Every Client
Every Comfort IV appointment includes real-time review and approval from a licensed Nurse Practitioner before your IV begins. Your NP reviews your health intake form, your current medications, and your selected treatment plan before giving approval. If anything in your health history makes a treatment inappropriate or requires modification, your NP will address it before proceeding.
This real-time clinical review is one of the most important safety features of the Comfort IV model. It is not standard at all mobile IV providers. At Comfort IV it is required at every single appointment.

Can teenagers get IV therapy at Comfort IV?
Yes. Teenagers under 18 can receive IV therapy at Comfort IV when a parent or legal guardian is present for the entire appointment. Every treatment includes standard health screening and real-time approval from a licensed Nurse Practitioner who reviews the teen's health history before the infusion begins.
Is there a weight limit for IV therapy?
There is no universal weight limit for IV therapy. Fluid volume and nutrient dosing may be adjusted based on your weight and health history. Your Nurse Practitioner will review your intake form and determine the appropriate protocol at your appointment.
Can elderly clients receive IV therapy?
Yes. Many older adults benefit from IV therapy for hydration, immune support, and energy. Certain age-related health conditions may require additional screening or protocol modification. Your NP conducts a thorough assessment before every treatment.
Can I get IV therapy while pregnant?
Always consult your OB or midwife before receiving IV therapy during pregnancy. Your Nurse Practitioner will also review your pregnancy status at your health intake. Comfort IV does not administer IV therapy to pregnant clients without documented physician clearance.
What happens if my health history makes me ineligible at my appointment?
If your Nurse Practitioner determines that IV therapy is not appropriate for you at that appointment, treatment will not proceed. Your NP will explain why and, where appropriate, recommend you consult your physician before rebooking.
